A brew is a recipe for a deck. A deck holds real cards from your collection. Crafting turns a brew into a deck.
A brew is a list of cards you want to play together. It is only a recipe. Nothing in your collection moves when you edit a brew.
You do not need to own the cards. You can make a brew with 100 cards and own only 3 of them.
Brews live in the Craft tab, under Brews.
To organize your brews, hold a finger on a brew for choices like edit and Move. Choose Move to drag your brews into your own order. You can also swipe on the button at the bottom right to change how the list is sorted.
Each line in a brew is called a slot. A slot says which card you want and how many copies. A slot can also ask for one exact version, finish, condition, or language. If you do not pick a version, any version counts.
Assigning means choosing which of your own cards will go into the deck.
Open a card in the brew. You will see where your copies are. Pick the copies you want to use. Each slot shows a number like 3 / 4. That means you assigned 3 copies and the brew wants 4.
Sparkheim can also assign cards for you. Automatic matching only uses cards from your binders. It never takes cards from your other decks. Those cards are already in use, so moving them is your decision.
Each brew has four matching settings, behind the gear on its page:
Exact printing only: a copy counts only if it is the exact version and finish the slot asks for. Off, any printing of the card counts.
Source from other decks: the picker also shows your copies that are inside other decks, and you can assign them yourself. Cards in decks are never taken automatically, with or without this setting.
Include basic lands: basic lands are matched like any other card. Off, the brew ignores them, since most people have piles of basics.
Auto-match from binders: the brew assigns the best binder copy to each card on its own. Turn it off to assign everything by hand.
Crafting turns the brew into a real deck. Tap Craft deck.
You get two choices:
First choice: use your assigned cards. They move out of your binders and into the new deck. Only assigned cards move. A slot with no assigned cards does not go into the deck. It stays in the brew as an open slot.
Second choice: add every card as a new copy. Your binders are not touched.
After crafting, the brew stays. The brew and the deck are linked.
You can change the brew later. Then tap Update deck. The deck is rewritten to match the brew. Cards you added to the deck by hand are not lost. If they are not in the brew, they move to your Unsorted binder. If you want to keep a card in the deck, add it to the brew too.
You can delete a brew. The deck is not touched. You can make a new brew from the deck at any time.
Crafting moves cards inside the app. Your real cards are still on your shelf. The pull list tells you where to find them.
There is one pull list, on the Info tab. Before you craft, it shows where each assigned card is right now, and it updates as you assign cards. When you craft, the list is saved with the deck, so it shows which binder each card came from. Swipe a row to mark the card as pulled. Use it like a checklist.
Nothing. The deck keeps all its cards. Only the brew is gone. You can make a new brew from the deck later.
Those cards are already in a deck. The app never takes them on its own. Turn on "Source from decks" in the brew's settings. Then you can assign them yourself.
Yes, always. If you update the deck from its brew, cards that are not in the brew move to your Unsorted binder. Nothing is deleted. If you want them to stay in the deck, add them to the brew too.
Yes. The cards you assigned move into the deck. Slots with no assigned cards stay in the brew as open slots. The brew shows you exactly which slots are still open.
