Commander tools

The Craft tab has an EDH panel: the Commander research you normally do in browser tabs, built into the app and matched against the cards you own. The numbers come from thousands of real decks.

Browse commanders

The EDH panel lists the most played commanders, ranked. Search by name, or type a number to jump straight to that rank. The filters can narrow by time period, colors, partners, rank, and deck theme.

Tap a commander to open its page.

The commander page

The top shows the commander card. Tap it to see its details. Partner pairs show both cards, and you can swap which one is in front.

Below that, the page has everything for this commander:

Average deck is the typical decklist: the cards people usually run, shaped into a real 100 card deck. It is not a deck anyone built, it shows what a normal deck for this commander looks like.

High synergy, Top cards, Game changers, and New cards are ranked card lists. High synergy cards are the ones this commander runs far more than other decks do. New cards shows what players just started adding from the newest sets.

Cards by type breaks the same cards into creatures, instants, lands, and so on.

Combos shows the known combos in this commander's colors.

Themes lists the ways people build this commander, with a share for each. Many themes open their own average deck, built only from decks of that theme.

Cards you own wear their sleeve in every list, so you always see what you already have.

Preconstructed decks

The Craft tab also holds every official preconstructed deck Wizards has ever shipped, grouped by set, newest first. Search by deck name, commander, set, or colors; "rakdos" and "esper" work too.

Open a precon and it reads like any deck: sections, stats, and sleeves on the cards you already own. If you like it, add it as a brew and make it your own: assign your copies, swap cards, and craft it when ready. Just bought a precon in paper? Add it as a brew and scan the cards in against it.

With Pro

Pro adds the collection intelligence: everything below compares the Commander data against the cards you actually own.

Buildability percentages

With Pro, the deck rows on every commander page carry a percentage: how much of that deck you already own. Green means close, red means far. One glance tells you if this commander is a weekend project or a shopping list.

Buildable decks

Real decklists from real players, ranked by how much of each you already own. Open one and the cards you have wear sleeves, the cards you miss do not, down to the exact missing cards. This answers the question "which version of this commander can I build tonight?"

Spark Finder

Spark Finder turns the search around. Instead of starting from a commander, it starts from your collection: it sweeps everything you own against real decks and ranks every commander by how close you are to building it. There is usually a deck you never knew you almost owned.

Open it from the round button on the EDH panel. Tap the wand button and choose Spark Finder.

Before it runs, you set the terms: grade against average decks or the best buildable ones, and narrow by power level, budget, colors, commander type, or deck theme. You also choose whether cards already sleeved in your decks count as available.

The Brew wizard

On any commander page, the wizard builds a complete brew to start from. You dial in what you want: the mana curve, the land count, ramp, and themes. It reaches for cards you already own first, so the brew starts as close to buildable as your collection allows. The result is a normal brew: edit it, assign your cards, and craft it when ready.

The wizard also finishes brews you started yourself. Run it on any brew that has a commander, and it fills the empty slots around the cards you already picked.

Upgrade advisor

Once you have a deck or brew, the advisor answers "what should I add next?" It ranks the strongest additions for it and marks the ones already sitting in your binders. You find it on the deck's page.

Card alternatives

Hold a finger on any card in a brew and ask for alternatives: cards that do the same job, ranked. Cheaper ones, stronger ones, and ones you already own are all marked. Good for trimming a deck's price or replacing a card you cannot find.

Questions

Is the average deck a real deck?

No. It is built from thousands of real decks to show what people usually run. Use it as a reference, or as a starting point for your own brew.

Do I need Pro to use the commander tools?

No. Browsing commanders, the commander pages, all the card lists, combos, themes, and average decks are free. Pro adds the parts that compare all of this against your collection: buildability percentages, Buildable decks, Spark Finder, the Brew wizard, the Upgrade advisor, and Card alternatives.

Where do these numbers come from?

From a large collection of real Commander decks that players have built and shared publicly. The app ships with this data and updates it over time.

My commander is missing or ranked low. Why?

Very new commanders need time to appear, because the numbers follow what players actually build. Give it a few weeks and a data update.
