Glossary

One of the five main screens on the bottom bar: Home, Collection, Search, Craft, and Scan. Guides say "the Scan tab", "the Collection tab". Panels inside a tab are sub-tabs (the Craft tab's Precons sub-tab). Avoid: "page", "screen", "section" for the main five.

Everything you own. Cards in binders and cards in decks both count. Cards in lists and wishlist cards in decks do not.

A container for cards you own. Binders live in the Collection tab's Binders panel. Use "binder" for the container and "card" for what's inside. Avoid: "folder", "album".

The built-in binder that catches cards without a home: cards removed from a deck, cards pulled back when a brew is re-crafted, import rows that could not be matched. It appears only while it holds cards and cannot be deleted. The name is editable, so in-app copy always shows its current name (unsortedBinderDisplayName()), and guides that say "the Unsorted binder" add "(the default name, yours may differ if you renamed it)" on first mention. Avoid as names: "inbox", "uncategorized", "catch-all".

A pile of physical cards from your collection, built and ready to play. Decks live in the Collection tab's Decks panel. A deck can still contain wishlist cards you have not bought yet. In a deck, rows are "cards", never "entries" or "slots". Avoid: "pile", "built deck" (just "deck"), "physical deck" (only when contrasting directly with a brew).

A deck you are planning. A brew lists the cards you want without moving or owning any of them. Brews live under Craft, in the Brews sub-tab. Avoid: "recipe", "draft deck", "craft deck". "Recipe" is design-doc shorthand and never appears in copy.

One card line in a brew: which card, how many copies, which section, plus any pinned printing, finish, condition, or language. Slot is brew vocabulary only. In-app actions: Edit slot, Duplicate slot, Remove from brew. Never call a deck's cards slots.

Earmarking specific copies from your collection for a brew slot. The badge on a slot reads assigned over required, for example 3 / 4. Three separate signals, never conflated in copy: the sleeve says what you own, the badge says what you have assigned, and brew settings only filter which copies the picker offers. Avoid: "earmark", "reserve", "allocate" in copy. "Assign" is the verb everywhere.

The action that turns a brew into a deck: assigned cards move out of their binders into the new deck. Buttons: Craft deck for the first craft, Update deck when the brew already has a built deck. Craft (capitalized) is also the tab where brewing tools live. Avoid: "build" as the verb for this action ("build" belongs to buildable decks), "materialize", "convert".

The record of where each card came from in the last craft, so you can gather the physical deck: which binder held which cards, plus anything added as new copies. Lives on the crafted deck's Info tab, with swipe to check cards off as you gather them. Before crafting, the brew's Info tab shows the live version titled Card locations, with cards not assigned anywhere grouped under Not sourced yet. Use "pull list" only for the crafted deck's snapshot.

The ownership marker on every card image, app-wide. A full sleeve means you own that exact version. A dimmed sleeve with a dashed rim means you own the card in a different printing or finish. No sleeve means you do not own it. Custom sleeve designs are made in the Sleeve Forge and can be assigned per deck or binder, so the sleeve color also tells you where your copy lives. Avoid: "border", "frame", "highlight".

A card in a deck or brew that you do not own yet. In a deck it renders without a sleeve, and that bare card is the signal. Action label: Add as wishlist. Avoid: "stub", "missing card" (say "cards you don't own yet").

A freeform pile of cards in the Collection tab's Lists panel. Lists do not count as owned and do not affect your collection value. Avoid: "pile", "group".

A Magic reprint released inside another product while keeping the earlier card's frame and set information. Most List cards have a small Planeswalker mark in the lower-left corner. Sparkheim treats The List printing separately from the original printing.

The card strip that appears at the bottom of the scanner when a card is recognized, showing the set, collector number, finish, condition, and quantity controls. This is the canonical guide name, the code's "commit toast" never appears in copy. The smaller strip that appears when the scanner keeps seeing the same card is described in prose ("when the scanner sees the same card again"), not named.

The batch of scanned cards waiting to be filed, held behind the tray chip on the scanner screen. From the inventory you edit quantities and file the whole batch into a binder, deck, brew, or list via Add to. The tray icon is the app's vocabulary for unfiled cards. Avoid: "queue", "basket", "session".

A preconstructed deck sold by Wizards of the Coast. First mention in a guide glosses it: "a precon (a ready-made deck sold by Wizards)". The Craft sub-tab is Precons, the commander hub row is View precon. Avoid: "official deck" alone, "product".

The typical decklist for a commander, computed from thousands of real decks. It shows what people usually run, it is not a deck anyone built. Hub row subtitle: The typical decklist. Avoid: "aggregate deck", "synthetic deck", "meta deck".

Real decks other people built and registered, ranked by how much of each you already own. Hub row subtitle: Real decks ranked by what you own. Avoid: "matches", "suggestions", "auto-built decks".

The five Commander power levels from the official bracket system: Exhibition (1), Core (2), Upgraded (3), Optimized (4), cEDH (5). Refer to a bracket by name, with the number in parentheses on first mention. Avoid: "power level", "tier".
